Shandong Xingdi New Material Co Ltd, which specialises in the production of PP spun-bond nonwoven fabrics, has started a new spun-bond line this month. The new line has an annual capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of 3.2-metre fabric. The fabric manufactured in the new line would help in meeting the increased demand for making facemasks and protective gowns.

“The new line can be used to deal with hydrophilic fraction, anti-static, anti-alcohol and anti-oil treatments. All the products have good fibre fineness and hand feeling. The cloth can be applied in medical fields, such as isolation gown, surgical gown, operation drapes, paper diaper etc,” the company said on its website.

Established in December 2013, Xingdi New Material is located in Zoucheng city of Shandong province on an area of 20,000 square metres.
