Italy’s Directa Plus signs LOI to develop automotive fabrics

UK proposes to maintain measures on continuous glass fibre from China

The UK’s Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has proposed that the existing anti-dumping and countervailing measures on continuous glass fibre from China be kept for a further five years. Glass fibres are used in the creation of wind turbine blades as well as in construction and automotive applications including manufacture of electric vehicles.

Japan’s Asahi Kasei collaborates with Genomatica for bio-based HMD

Japanese chemical company Asahi Kasei has collaborated with Genomatica, Inc., regarding hexamethylenediamine (HMD) based on biomass-derived raw material (bio-HMD). Asahi Kasei currently uses fossil fuel–derived HMD as an intermediate to manufacture Leona polyamide 66, an engineering plastic featuring outstanding heat resistance and rigidity.
