US manufacturer SCIGRIP and Biesterfeld have extended strategic partnership to Italy. From September 1, 2021, two-component methyl methacrylate (MMA) adhesives which are in demand in the marine, automotive and rail industries, will be available in Italy. The product range is already distributed in Poland, the Baltic states, Germany, France and the UK.

MMA adhesives are one of the current megatrends in lightweight construction and are used in a range of marine, transportation and automotive industry applications to achieve reliable bonds between metals, plastics, composites and combinations of these materials. They offer high tensile strength and flexible bonds, combining the advantages of epoxy and polyurethane adhesives. Since many substrates require no surface preparation and the systems are very simple to use, much less time is required for adhesive application, which means productivity can be increased.

"Biesterfeld has been successfully distributing our materials in the markets entrusted to it and has proven itself to be a valuable partner," says Tim Johnson, European sales manager at SCIGRIP. "The expansion of the distribution business is the next step in our collaboration and we have complete confidence in the specialist knowledge of Biesterfeld's experts and the company's excellent distribution structures on the Italian market."

"Expanding the strategic partnership will enable us to offer our Italian customers innovative products from SCIGRIP which are in high demand on the market," adds Roberto Calvi, head of Sales and business manager, Biesterfeld Polychem. "The product range includes a wide array of types with working times from three minutes to 130 minutes, which provides our customers with tremendous variety and flexibility."
