Technotex 2023 to empower start-ups: Indian minister Darshana Jardosh

Technical textiles fair Technotex 2023 will be held in Mumbai, India from February 22–24, 2023. The event is being organised by the Indian ministry of textiles in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce Industry, under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM).

Technotex 2023 is focused on providing its attendees access and networking opportunities to meet CEOs, manufacturers, industry peers, purchase managers, and suppliers from India and around the globe, according to a press release by India’s ministry of textiles.

“The G-20 Presidency offers an exceptional opportunity for India to contribute to the global agenda on insistent matters of global importance. Keeping in view the high potential of start-ups in the technical textile arena, Technotex 2023 will focus on discussions to empower start-up ventures, promote knowledge exchange on best practices, and develop capacities of entrepreneurial ecosystem for start-ups,” said Union minister of state for textiles Darshana Jardosh while addressing a curtain raiser event for Technotex 2023 in Mumbai. 

The curtain raiser was organised to brief media houses, leading technical textile industry players, and foreign missions in India about the significance of the event, the importance the ministry accords to the sector, and to set the chord for meaningful deliberations in making the summit fruitful.

The minister informed that the government is making all efforts to promote technical textiles and has undertaken various initiatives in this direction, such as the creation of the PLI scheme, HSN Codes, and National Technical Textiles Mission, added the release.

Maharashtra’s textile minister Chandrakant Patil mentioned that Maharashtra’s textile policy is aimed at generating 10 lakh new jobs, attracting investments worth ₹36,000 crores, and providing many benefits including competitive power tariffs and increased capital subsidy.

The ministry and the industry look forward to more than 15,000 business visitors in February 2023 at Technotex 2023 and meaningful interactions with user industries within the government of India as well as abroad, including all diplomats and CEOs and so on, at the decadal edition of the event.
