A.Celli's scope of supply for the project in question included several components. These were the E-Wind Wave axial/surface-driven master roll winder, designed for a speed of 1100 mpm, and stock stations for handling master rolls. Additionally, the project incorporated the E-Wind Supersonic off-line slitter rewinder, with a design speed of 1800 mpm, and the E-Wind Corematic EVO for automatic shaft handling and core cutting. Finally, the R-Way Automatic Packaging System, featuring two robots, a vertical and horizontal wrapper, and a label verification system, was included in the project's scope of supply.
“We chose to rely again on A. Celli because of the high quality of their solutions and services. We currently have six other lines in Hazleton that are running A.Celli’s machinery and we appreciate the partnership for this project involving the new R5 line,” Shane Vincent, PFN chief commercial officer, said.
“Slitting, winding, labeling and packaging have become such a critical part of nonwoven manufacturing operations. We produce high-loft and ultra-soft products on our new Line 9 and are also pushing the lower end of basis weights for other spunbond products. This range has put a very high demand on the various A. Celli components: foremost to ensure that the delicate properties are maintained throughout the process, and second that roll goods are achieved with the consistent high quality that our customers have come to expect from us,” Tonny de Beer, PFN chief product, technology & sustainability officer, added.
