Ternua has definitely grown in terms of design by creating a distinctive look of its own, including shoulder panels and raised hand pockets. As for colours, a palette of cool tones has been chosen, among which macchiato stands out. The best premium fabrics, lightweight, highly durable and functional have been used, many of which come from recycled nylon and polyester. Especially worth noting are garments using fabrics from the Redcycle and Saretu projects where the company has given a brand-new use to disused fishing nets, turning them into highly resistant, high-quality yarn, the company said in a press release.
In terms of technology, the 2022/2023 autumn/summer trekking collection includes both proprietary technology and that employed by the world’s leading suppliers, clearly shown by Ternua’s use of Warmshell (with its Pro version) to provide thermal insulation; Dryshell for optimal breathability and quick drying; Microshell, ideal for use in combination with Neokdun, Primaloft or Pertex down fillings, whose technology is based on ultra-fine synthetic microfibres, making them super light, highly breathable and windproof; and Shelltec for protection against the rain. As for trousers, Ternua still opts for Shellstretch, a highly elastic, resistant, breathable, water-resistant fabric. Well worth mentioning too is a particularly innovative technology applied by Ternua in several previous collections, especially in the most technical garment lines: StormFleece Pro, a combination of Softshell and Polar fleece for optimal protection from the rain and wind, keeping the body dry and making it ideal all year round.
Among the new designs are the Arko Jkt for men and women, the Yukkon Jkt (Yukkan in the women's version), the Verkom Hard Jkt (Verkam in the women's version), the Karasan Hood jkt for women and Kuturak trousers for men and women. These are easy to combine with other items from previous collections, such as the Krater half-zip second layer, for both men and women, the Kuantum Hybrid jacket (Kuantik in the women’s version), and the Corno Pant or Darkstone Pant, among others.
S-Café technology has been implemented to give the fabrics an antibacterial finish; this leading textile innovation uses recycled coffee grounds inserted into the yarn to guarantee its strength throughout the garment’s entire life cycle. Likewise, all garments in this collection have been given PFC-free water repellent finishes (environmentally friendly substances), something that Ternua has been doing since 2018, when it became the first Spanish outdoor brand to completely eliminate PFCs from the water repellent finishes used in its fabrics. The entire collection also bears the "Commitment" label, which certifies that the garment has been made from recycled, naturally biodegradable materials, from organic cotton or Bluesign or Oeko-Tex certified materials. Another highlight in this range of trekking garments is the use of recycled Neokdun down, a filling first introduced in 2013 and pioneered by Ternua worldwide.
