Ministry Of Textile, Office of the Textile Commissioner released brief report of activities performed in the month of June 2012 to promote and encourage the technical textile industry are appended below:-

Progress under Technology Mission on Technical Textiles (TMTT)
• Meeting of technical Committee to identify HSN Codes for Technical Textiles was held at BTRA, Mumbai on 1st June, 2012 for identifying HSN Codes on Technical Textiles.
• Meeting between the delegation of Ministry of Textiles and Chief Secretary of Tripura was held on 05th June, 2012 at Tripura to promote the usage of Geotech & Agrotech in North Eastern Region & sensitize about the plan schemes of Ministry of Textiles for North Eastern Region under 12th five year plan. The MoT delegation was led by Shri Sujit Gulati, Joint Secretary, MOT .
• An Interactive Meet-cum-Workshop on technical textiles with special focus on Business start-up component of Technology Mission on Technical Textiles (TMTT) was held on 20.06.2012 at Umargaon, Gujarat.
Empanelled consultants under TMTT and SASMIRA made presentation and had interaction with participants.
• A seminar on Geo Textiles & Agrotextiles was organized in association with Indian Chamber Of Commerce (ICC) at Imphal (Manipur) on 29.06.2012 to sensitize about the plan schemes of Ministry of Textiles for North Eastern Region under 12th five year plan. The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of Manipur. Shri Sujit Gulati, Joint Secretary, MOT and Textile Commissioner were also present
• A One to One meeting with potential entrepreneurs in technical textiles with Empanelled consultants was organized at PSC, Umargaon on 29.06.2012 to discuss the probable projects in technical textiles.

Updation of website: www.technotex.gov.in of Ministry of Textiles
i. Result Framework Document (RFD) for technical textiles has been placed in the website
ii. Compendium on standards on technical textiles sector has been uploaded in the website.
iii. Draft White paper on formulation of regulations in respect of safety industrial work-wear (Heat & Flame) has been placed on our website for inviting comments.
iv. The details regarding newly Empanelled Consultants under Technology Mission on Technical Textiles (TMTT) for Business Start up under Mini Mission II of TMTT such as name, contact person, Email ID, telephone nos. have been placed on our website.
v. Compendium on Centers of Excellence (COEs) has been uploaded in the website

10% Capital Subsidy to Technical Textile Industry under TUFS:
- During the month of June 2012, three technical textile units have been registered with this office for availing 10% Capital Subsidy under TUFS for Technical Textiles with a proposed investment in machineries to the tune of Rs. 4.52 crores (Approx).
- So far, 604 units have been registered with this office as technical textile manufacturing Units for availing 10% Capital subsidy with a total investment in proposed machineries to the tune of Rs. 3504.52 crores (approx).

Export of Nonwoven technical textiles, Impregnated & Coated textiles, Medical Textiles and Other Technical Textile Items has increased by 17, 33, 30 & 40 percent respectively when compared to last year data.
