Vijay Ramakrishnan is the head of Textile Research and Application Development Centre (TRADC) which is a part of the pulp and fibre business of Grasim Industries. TRADC has established a leadership position of innovation in the area of textiles from regenerated cellulosic fibres. It has a strength of eighty researchers and technicians and is equipped with the latest technologies in spinning, weaving, knitting, processing and garmenting. It is a one stop solution provider to the textile value chain globally.
 
He has spent over 25 years in industrial research and his earlier experience includes companies such as Dow Chemical and Unilever. He has a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, USA. He obtained his undergraduate degree from IIT-BHU in Metallurgical Engineering. He has a keen interest in developing industrially relevant applications for regenerated cellulosic fibres.
