Dr. S. Aishwariya graduated with Bachelors and Masters Specialising in Textiles, Fashion and Clothing. She was a gold medallist in both UG and PG. Her Ph. D was funded by the Government of India, through DST INSPIRE Fellowship for a period of five years. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Textiles and Clothing, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India. Her experience includes Teaching, Research, Consultancy and Industry. She has made herself qualified for teaching by clearing the UGC-NET examination for Lectureship in India. The doctoral work was presented in various forums including the conference in Zurich (Switzerland), IIT Delhi, Lucknow, Surat and Chennai (India). There is also a Nation-wide patent filed on one of the concepts of her PhD work and one more on the process of filing. The areas of her research interests include Sustainability and with regard to teaching the papers are Fashion design and concepts, Basics of Sewing, Fashion Accessories, Textile Testing, Fashion Portfolio and Illustration, Manual and Digital CAD.
Currently she is working as INSPIRE Fellow and Assistant Professor in Department of Textiles and Clothing,Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. S. Aishwariya is very passionate about teaching and research involving fashion, textiles, clothing and accessories. She enjoys learning and disseminating the knowledge to fellow students. Her area of interest is mainly on sustainable textiles and believes that she can do it by educating the young minds about it. She has written more than 40 articles, 2 books, 2 chapters and 2 articles in news papers along with two patents published in IPR.
